We are a group of literature and writing studies undergraduates curating the December issue of the future online literary journal for California State University San Marcos’ Literature and Writing Department. This issue focuses on fan fiction, which we define as “works of fiction or poetry inspired by films, works of literature (novels, poems, short stories), narrative video games, television shows, graphic novels and/or Anime/Manga.” We believe that fan fiction is a serious art form and hope our journal encourages readers to respect this style of writing and try it for themselves.
