Submissions Guidelines

Note: We are not currently accepting fan fiction submissions, but encourage you to keep checking our site for more information on this literary journal.

  1. First and foremost, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in order to submit.
  2. No sexually explicit or pornographic texts.
  3. NO FAN ART – each submission must be literary (short story, poem, screenplay, script or excerpt of a longer work, such as a novel).
  4. Page Limit: With exception to poetry, each submission must be at least one page and no more than five. We do accept excerpts of longer works, however, the excerpt must be no more than five pages. If we feel that a submission or excerpt particularly resonates with us and our mission, we may consider publishing the text in its entirety.
  5. Note: Submitted works do not have to relate to canonical or popular texts. We accept fan fiction of obscure/independently published or filmed works as long as the original texts are published or have premiered to the public.
  6. We accept multiple submissions and works also submitted elsewhere.

Please direct all submissions to “CSUSM Curatorial Staff” at csusmfanfiction@gmail.com. Contact us if you have any questions or concerns at csusmfanfiction@gmail.com
